PRIMARY CAREGIVING

You're Invited, A Child's Place offers each child a fully qualified primary
caregiver dedicated to providing a safe, child-centered environment.
Your child's primary caregiver will get to know your child's development
and basic needs and through observing and interacting with your child,
provide an environment that meets and challenges your child's individual
needs.  While every teacher will have day-to day contact with your child,
each child will be assigned to a primary caregiver.  It will be the primary
caregiver’s responsibility to assist in diapering (if necessary), toileting,
planning curriculum to meet your child’s individual needs, daily
communication with parents, and generally being responsible for the
safety and well being of your child.

GUIDANCE OR "GETTING YOUR SHOVEL BACK"

It is our belief that when treated as capable and competent beings, even
the youngest of children can be successful at handling conflict.  We
embrace the fact that conflicts occur, and view them as opportunities for
all of the participants to work solutions out for themselves (they are able to
“get their shovels back” on the playground).  While a primary caregiver will
always be standing by ready to offer support, we will step in and intervene
when 1) a child could hurt themselves, 2) they could hurt others, or 3) they
could damage property.

PARENT ORIENTATION

All parents/guardians are required to attend our mandatory Parent
Orientation.  Ideally, this will be attended before your child attends,
however we realize that this is not always possible.  If you do not attend an
Orientation before your child starts attending the program, then you will be
required to participate in the next Orientation that is offered.

VOLUNTEERS

YOU’RE INVITED, A CHILD’S PLACE would love to involve the adults as
much as possible in their child’s daily environment and offer a variety of
ways to volunteer.  Volunteers must attend a Parent Orientation.
