| You're Invited Children's Center Philosophy When you enter You're Invited the environment looks different from what most classrooms look like. You will notice there is a lot going on at our school. Children are running, talking, laughing, planning, exploring, experimenting and playing. There is a lot of pressure on children to be performing, absorbing random bits of knowledge and hurrying up to be "ready" with no appreciation for being in the moment. At You're Invited we know children learn extraordinary amounts through play and exploration. Research and experience tells us that to learn most effectively, children need environments that are relevant, individualized and focus on children's developmental needs. This happens everyday at You're Invited. Also, brain research tells us young children learn more through experiencing their environment than by listening to a teacher talk or to a teacher directing them in their learning. You're Invited provides for children's developmental needs with teachers that get to know the child then create an environment with experiences that are in tune with the children's characteristics. Throughout the day the children in this program have opportunities to develop socially, emotionally, academically (cognitively), physically and creatively. Based on many years of education, research and experience we design our program with the child in mind first. Our school provides an environment that is honoring your child where ever he or she is. We desire the children's learning to be deep, relevant, a part of who they are and a solid foundation for their learning in the future. TUITION Please call (951) 351-1023 for tuition rates. In our effort to meet the needs of as many families as possible. You're Invited contracts with several city and county agencies (GAIN, RCOE, etc.) to help subsidize tuition costs. You're Invited also offers reduced tuition rates to families whose income may not qualify for subsidy but may not be enough to afford quality childcare. Please call and ask for a scholarship information. MEET THE OWNER Jami West has worked in the early childhood field for almost 19 years. Her bachelor's degree is in Human Development/Child Development and she is currently working on her Master's Degree in Human Development with a specialization in Early Childhood Education. She is passionate and educated in children's brain development, learning styles (especially in boys), and play-based learning. In her experience, Jami became more and more discouraged by the lack of schools that truly put children's needs first. In July of 2005 Jami decided to open a school that would provide an environment for children where their needs come before anything else and where children would be given the opportunity to develop and learn through play. Now, we provide a safe, nurturing environment in two houses and a great outdoor area transformed into a beautiful, inviting, licensed, child-centered school.
